WOLF School Introduces 100% Recycled T-Shirts to Camp Merchandise, Proceeds Benefit Scholarship Fund

On January 22, 2018, Web of Life Field (WOLF) School will introduce t-shirts made from 100% recycled materials into our selection of merchandise, the sales of which benefit our Scholarship Fund that brings kids and schools to science camp who otherwise wouldn’t have the opportunity.

Home-based at Camp Monte Toyon in Aptos, WOLF School is a nonprofit residential science camp that provides outdoor education programs to K-12th grade students and their teachers from schools throughout central California. Largely serving the San Francisco Bay Area at our Aptos campus, WOLF School also operates programs at other sites throughout California and works with schools as far north as Sacramento and south to Monterey.

Each of our programs, from Outdoor Science School to California Living History to P.A.C.C. Team Building, upholds our mission of “building respect, appreciation, and stewardship within the web of life” and aims at teaching students the importance of understanding the connections between all life and our environments. By offering environmentally-friendly t-shirts, WOLF School demonstrates to students how the organization practices stewardship for the environment in our own operations.

Featuring the WOLF School logo and available in black, gray, and navy, the new t-shirts are made by Everywhere, a new company based in Southern California that produces 100% recycled and made in the USA garments and products using no dyes, excess water, or chemical treatments. Everywhere’s process saves 650 gallons of water per t-shirt made compared to the conventional mass produced t-shirt, and each garment is ethically knit, cut, and sewn in a solar powered facility in Los Angeles, CA. What’s more, Everywhere donates 10% of profits to protect global access to clean water.

“We are really excited to offer these t-shirts to the students, teachers, and chaperones that attend our programs,” says WOLF School Program Coordinator Sergio Typhoon, “because it is so important to practice what we teach. These t-shirts signify our own goals of acting as global citizens, and teach students that environmentally-conscious actions can be as simple as knowing how your t-shirt is made. Plus, we feel more ethical offering a 6th grader a t-shirt that not only reduces our impact on water and energy consumption, but is made without harmful dyes and chemicals.”

100% of proceeds from the sale of WOLF School merchandise, including the new t-shirts, benefits the WOLF School Scholarship Fund, which connects more youth to nature and their own potential. Scholarships go to students and schools who have limited access to the outdoors, and who otherwise wouldn't have the opportunity to attend an outdoor education program.
