Residential Outdoor Science School (R.O.S.S.)

Experience the fun of hands-on science in the outdoors!

WOLF School offers California state standards-based exploration of scientific concepts and natural history through field studies, group initiatives, fun songs, active games and living together in a community. Students explore and discover the concepts of Energy, Cycles, Change, Adaptations, Communities, Interdependence and Diversity while surrounded by the beauty of the redwoods, at the beach or in sierra pine forests.

 Students will Participate in:

  • Field Studies on trail with naturalists -  Time spent with WOLF School naturalists can be tailored to teacher’s particular subject interests or state standards for a specific grade.  Our naturalists are experts at taking material taught in the classroom and creating supplemental fun and engaging curriculum in the outdoors! 
  • Evening Activities that are popular after supper include:
    • campfire with songs and skits
    • night/dusk walk (not recommended for first night)
    • town hall meetings
    • astronomy night 
  • Family style meals
  • Shared experience sleeping in cabins with friends and chaperones.
  • Teambuilding and cooperation with fellow students, teachers, and WOLF community
