About Us

The Web of Life Field (WOLF) School is a residential environmental education organization dedicated to providing outdoor educational experiences for students and teachers.  Since 1989, the WOLF School has annually served up to 5,000 youth and adults through a unique variety of environmental education programs at our Northern California campuses.  WOLF School is a program of United Camps, Conferences and Retreats (UCCR), a private non-profit camp and conference management organization.

Our mission is "to build respect, appreciation, and stewardship within the Web of Life."  From our traditional Residential Outdoor Science Camp program to our Gold Rush Living History program, WOLF School’s lessons, activities, and discoveries are designed to provide opportunities for teachers to enhance classroom learning and for students to gain knowledge, awareness, and respect of their environment, their community, and themselves.

Wolf School has 5 beautiful campuses throughout Northern California.  Each campus offers different opportunities for living and learning.  From newly built Camp Tuolumne Trails, just outside of Yosemite National Park, to Santa Cruz’s Camp Monte Toyon, where outdoor science school can really focus on redwood ecology and coastal studies, each campus offers something different.  To discuss the opportunities available at each campus, click on the link above to see details about each campus or call the WOLF School Office.

Our Naturalists are enthusiastic lifelong learners who bring a love of the outdoors and a commitment to outdoor education in all their work with students and teachers.  All of our staff hold college degrees and have backgrounds in the areas of science, history, community building, education, and working with children.  Our instructors’ experiences and diverse backgrounds come together to create safe and dynamic education programs for students. Take a moment to meet our staff!

WOLF School provides a professional and creative environment for those in the field of environmental education.  We are looking for passionate and enthusiastic outdoor educators who wish to connect students to the outdoors.  You will explore with students the Sierra Foothills, the watersheds of Sonoma County, and the redwood forests and tidepools in Santa Cruz. We teach hands-on, student-centered lessons through direct experience with the natural world.  Staff at WOLF School are required to travel and teach at all our Northern California campuses and are flexible, self-motivated, inquisitive and quick learners.  Learn more about a terrific position working with the WOLF community and teaching on trails!

The Web of Life Field School staff express deep gratitude to all of those who donate to our non-profit program and volunteer their services in helping us postively change the lives of so many children.  Learn how you can become a friend of WOLF School!
